Working alongside William Birch & Sons Limited, AD Environmental were instructed as mechanical contractor for the £5M refurbishment project at York Theatre Royal.

 

 

York Theatre Royal is a grade I listed property and is one of York’s finest historical buildings, only perhaps overshadowed by York Minster which is a few metres away and the York City Roman walls. You can read about this in more detail here.

 

 

Our works included major overhaul to the ventilation throughout the building (including the auditorium).

The ventilation works included the design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke supply / extract and heat recovery system which included LTHW heating coils. In addition chilled water capacity has been provided to facilitate easier upgrade in the future should it be required.

New gas boilers were installed, along with  LTHW heating service pipework throughout the building and included RAL colour coded radiators,  bespoke trench heating to the new glazed extension, associated plant such as inverter driven pumps, gas safety valves, pressurisation unit, over door heater to main reception and box office. All the above were linked to a new fully upgraded Trend building management system.

 

 

High end sanitaryware were supplied and installed within toilets facilities throughout,  a new restaurant, café & bar retail outlets were also fit out as required.

 

Since completing the project, our relationship with this prestige client, has continued to prosper as we are employed directly by York Theatre Royal facilities team to carry out specialist, regular on-going maintenance, servicing and repairs to ensure this listed building remains at its best now and in future.
