AD Environmental were employed as mechanical contractor to complete works to replace a roof top air cooled commercial chiller to a 6 storey HMRC office block building.

Works included… decommissioning, transportation and disposal of existing 300kw chiller, cranage, modification to roof top chiller support frame, pipework modifications (including welded connections), electrical supply cable upgrade and BMS control modifications. Due to the nature of works, elements such as crane lift were completed out of hours at weekend at the clients request.

Project duration

2 weeks

Cost

£155,000

All works were completed in house with exception of crane lift, haulage and commissioning which was completed by the chiller manufacturer for warranty purposes.

All pipework connections were measured and construction/welded/pre-fabricated off site. This was to minimise the disruption to the teams within the fully occupied HMRC property. New isolation valves were supplied with insulation bags provided and all sections of new pipework were insulated and covered with suitable all weather finish to ensure efficient service and maximum operational life is achieved for the client.

Testimonial

Nick Burke, Project Manager

“I was somewhat surprised initially at the time and effort put in from ADE in their approach at tender as I thought that the amount of detail that they asked about was a little OTT however when it came to the actual ‘doing’ on site I could see why.  Apart from a clearly commercial and competitive pricing exercise, I had no option and great faith in awarding ADE the contract and I must say how pleased I was to have done so.
