AD Environmental Ltd have been awarded works via closed tender to supply, install and commission air source heat pumps at Orpington Library, The Walnuts Centre, Orpington. BR6 0TW.
AD Environmental completed an in-house design to meet required specification including high water temperature set point (80°C) and consideration of external noise restraints.
The existing redundant ‘district heating’ system was stripped out and F&E tank feed to LHTW system was isolated and capped off.
5 No. JCI Hitachi Yutaki S80 Air Source Heat Pump systems were installed in cascade formation, along with a new twin pump set, pressurisation unit, air / dirt separator and buffer vessel to suit.
Incoming electrical supply to the Plant Room was upgraded along with installation, testing and certification of new distribution boards plus containment, Trend BMS panel, lighting and emergency lighting systems.
Works have been carried out to prevent cold draughts at ground floor level by blocking and securing with insulated board any open high-level louvres. Ductwork transition pieces / connections have been made manufactured and installed on existing supply and extract services as requested.
Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) condensers have been installed on a flat roof above the Plant Room. Within scope of works on the flat roof, ManSafe Access & edge protection has been installed to suit with a ladder provided for future maintenance access.
Bird protection netting has been supplied and installed to offer protection to the new fixed plant.
Noise assessment has been independently carried out to ensure the new plant does not impede operations at the Library or any neighbouring properties.
